As a native of the city that gave birth to House music, Chicago, browntown (Sami Ahmed), has cultivated his roots in House music from a very early age. After living in Florence, Italy and London, England, for some time, browntown has now settled back in his native city and taken his understanding of House music and coupled it with all of the worldly influences he witnessed and experienced himself. Not tied to one specific genre of House, browntown’s live sets are one that leave listeners wanting more -from his Funky Deep House Grooves to his explosive buildups -all who hear hear him continue to listen, love, enjoy, dance.

We’ve been listening to this mix continuously for the past few weeks and it is truly great for all situations, working, chilling out, partying, driving, eating, showering, blogging…you get the point.

Jody Wisternoff rose to fame in the dance music world as half of Way Out West with fellow DJ Producer Nick Warren in 1994 when their singles “The Gift”, “Mindcircus” and “Ajare” took the dance scene by storm. But at the tender age of 13 in 1986 he had already proved he was one cut above the rest when he reached the DMC Hip Hop finals. Jody has since been putting out some killer singles under his own name including his recent release on Anjunadeep, “Lassoo” and “No Longer Strangers” which can be found at Beatport and other online retailers. In addition, his latest release as Way Out West “We Love Machine
” is available now.

DROOG is the DJ collective of Andrei Osyka, Brett Griffin and Justin Sloe. From their start 4 years ago, DROOG has steadily built a reputation as one the one of the leading purveyors of forward-thinking dance, in Los Angeles and beyond. For the past 3 years, Droog has held down a residency at Avalon Hollywood, one of the biggest clubs in the US. At Avalon, they have had the chance to play alongside influences such as Richie Hawtin, Lee Burridge, Steve Lawler, Damian Lazarus, Tiefschwarz, Mr. C, Booka Shade, MANDY, Matthew Dear and Steve Bug. Droog has began the exploration of a new frontier in launching an LA-based record label, Culprit, which has spawned successful releases from Matt Tolfrey, Inxec, Hot Natured, Lee Foss and Kenneth James Gibson aka [a]pendics.shuffle. As we begin 2010, Droog is about to embark on their first release, slated to hit the shops before the trio makes waves at WMC.
