All three of London brother duo Disclosure‘s recent singles have followed a trend; mixing pop with elements of various electronic genres, while possessing heavy production throughout. This pattern has drawn a number of expectations for their forthcoming debut album Settle. Breaking the mold, the British duo showcase that they are everything but one dimensional with “F For You”. While “F For You” (short for “fool for you”) features a catchy hook, much like their previous material, it sports a straightforward sound that relies on melodic bass with a modern take on UK garage vocals and bending synths to throttle the tempo.
Chiming in at around four minutes, “F For You” carries a club-ready vibe, mixing synthetic and organic rhythmic elements to create a locked groove that only pauses for a fifteen second synth break through the middle of the song. Premiered during a radio session with Zane Lowe on BBC Radio, “F For You” is just further proof that Disclosure are in for the long haul. With anticipated contributions to their album from Jessie Ware and London Grammar, when Settle drops on June 3rd it is sure to see a warm reception.
