Although the hype behind Kanye West and Jay Z‘s 2011 project Watch The Throne succeeded the final product, we were definitely given our fair share of hip hop quotables, especially with the opening track “No Church In the Wild.” Alas, it seemed as if everyone was donning their favourite pair of sunglasses while being fueled by the forces of Advil, as last night was “mad real.”  Now a part of the contemporary vernacular, the phrase has been chopped,  screwed, and more importantly, sampled, this time by  rhymers Tona, Adam Bomb, and Rich Kidd, and head of the Toronto based clothing line The Legends League, Bryan Espiritu. Dubbing themselves as Naturally Born Strangers, the group take the advice from the Roc-A-Fella affiliates while living a hedonistic lifestyle filled with the repercussions of having one too many drinks.

With a heavy, booming instrumental from Kidd, a multi talented rising star in the rap blog game, the track’s defibrillator-esque approach immediately jump starts the listener’s attention through until the end. If you’re feeling out of your element, give the track a listen, pop a couple of those rust coloured life savers and call us in the morning.
