One of the youngest, most trusted talents in progressive house, Jakob Liedholm, continues his climb to success with this remix of the electropop group Fenech-Soler‘s “Magnetic”. The British quartet gained acclaim in 2010 with their self-titled debut album and now return three years later with Rituals, dropping September 2nd on Warner Brothers Records. Though the band never planned the pop aspect of their music, lead singer Ben Duffy expressed the following about the album’s sound: “It’s about connecting with people on a universal level while remaining true to our dance roots.”

Well, they certainly will connect with the dance community through Liedhom’s remix of their first single, “Magnetic”. A bright Swedish star, the 17 year old producer must consider himself lucky to be included on this project, as Fenech-Soler only sparingly produced the original tracks with the likes of Tim Goldsworthy of LCD Soundsytem, and another Swede, Style of the Eye. Taking Duffy’s vocals and interspersing them with broad chords and pointed piano notes, Liedholm spins a bright progressive tune that carries the track’s vision to anthemic heights

Grab the original single on July 1st and keep en eye out for tickets to Fenech-Soler’s tour in England this November. For Liedholm Monday will apparently bring some “BIG BIG BIG news”, so keep posted.
