Last week, Jay-Z set the internet on fire with the release of his rousing response to critics, “Open Letter”, which sensationally addressed his visit to Cuban with wife, Beyonce, and the selling of his share in the Brooklyn Nets in order to venture into representing athletes. Before we even get the chance to catch our collective breaths, though, Common is now fanning the flames with his own addition. The verse speaks on the MCs own political troubles back when Fox News critiqued him for referencing Asaata Shakur on wax, a response to his being invited to the White House. Common’s verse gives the record a little something extra and it is a perfect complement to Hov’s. Common is expected to release his tenth solo album, which as of now is still untitled, later this year. For now, bump this track (and this one) religiously to hold you over.
