Using a Motown legend for your vocal sample can be a bold move, but thankfully Leeds duo Wayward hook Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell up with some top-notch production.  Their original mix of “Marvin” put tropical house vibes behind sugary vocals from the classic track “Ain’t Nothing Like The Real Thing.” Everything about it leads to being irresistible and I can only imagine Mr. Gaye partying to it in the heavens. It’s definitely worthy of several repeats.

Wayward manages to outdo themselves with the VIP Remix for “Marvin.” Keeping with the sweet vocals, they amp up the original with a bouncier bassline and quicker beats. It’s the kind of thing that lends itself to some serious dancing. Either version of “Marvin” serves as a perfect accompaniment to “Love Jones,” which samples the hit “Keep On Truckin’” from Eddie Kendricks. The original mix is being released as the B-side to the 12-inch, and the VIP Remix comes with the digital Love Jones release from Aesop
