Crazy cat producer, Cashmere Cat, otherwise known as Magnus August Høiberg, has come out with his newest track, “With Me” today and I’m with him. The track is the first release off his EP, “Wedding Bells” coming out on LuckyMe Records, look for it in the New Year and premiered to on Zane Low BBC Radio 1 & Pitchfork yesterday.
Cashmere Cat has an incredible ability to draw the listener in with a calming melody, quickly turning the song into an adventure of complex beats and intricate synthed-out layers, creating his wildly unique and signature sounds. Cashmere Cat’s signature sound is that of no boundaries or rules, the identifying qualities that resonate are a magical journey, twisting and turning, and sometimes slightly abrasive. Although at times confusing, Cashmere Cat always finds a way to bring all the seemingly mixed up sounds back together into a masterful chaos that inexplicably makes sense.
Cashmere Cat first drew attention to his magical kitty chaos with his Miguel “Do You” remix this summer and solidified his status as a musical wizard during a sweaty late night live set in Brooklyn that tore the house down in October during a CMJ music showcase.
