Manchester producer D/R/U/G/S, more commonly known as Callum Wright, shows his ability to tap into the moodier side of house with his new You Are Everywhere EP. As soon as D/R/U/G/S meets your ears, elements of techno, grime, and house come together creating an atmosphere of warmth and euphoria alongside contemplative beats. Last month, we got to check out the title track “You Are Everywhere,” which features debut vocals from Rebecca Rivers. It’s the only song on the EP with vocals. The other two are mostly instrumental.

“Lightmachine” and “Nightmachine” have similar vibes to one another, as the names would suggest. “Nightmachine” takes a slight turn in the Italo disco direction, as it sets a nice groove to go with the idea of a nightly space cruise. D/R/U/G/S has this ability juxtapose playful, childlike tendencies with gloomy moments in production. It’s very beautiful. “You Are Everywhere” wraps up the EP with an uplifting spirit. Together, all three tracks have simple, deeply hypnotic progressions and thumping bass to grasp onto as you shuffle along.
