When we reviewed Doc Hollywood’s “Acceptable in 1980” song back in June, they commented, “Our ADD is so bad that all the Adderall in the world can’t keep us focused on one style of music.” The duo, aka Lex Larson and Louie Rubio, weren’t joking around. Last Friday they released their latest creation, A. D. D.
They might be LA-based, but the third track is an ode to one of Brooklyn’s greatest legends. “Larry Levin” rinses you with fresh disco synths and colorful vocals, composing a righteous atmosphere. You’ll hear characteristics of every decade since the ‘70s, be it Lex jamming hard on the bass Louie holding it all together on the keys. The result is an uplifting and somehow gave a modern yet reminiscent vibe. It’s always hard to do piece of work in honor of a past professional and Doc Hollywood focused, focused, and they nailed it.
