Cults are primed and ready for the release of their latest album Static out October 15th. The video for their second single “High Road” is mysterious and a tad eerie. The black and white visuals are reminiscent of the late 50’s, early 60’s television show The Twilight Zone, including surrealist symbolism like a deer whose antlers catch on fire, a classic car driving down a dark and foggy road, a school of fish, and a floating chair. The ambient pop music of Cults and the video’s haunting imagery remind me of a Hitchcock film set to music. I am not sure what it all means, but it makes for a stimulating sequence.
