The wonderful thing that a list like we accumulate here at The Club can do for us is remind us that even when we might become disenchanted with one type of music, there are artists hanging out under the radar with music just waiting to be discovered and reinvigorate fans. These lists remind us that there is still diversity out there, and help to give exposure to other sounds we might not hear otherwise. What we bring you in Week 63 of The Club is an interesting array of dance music, and, what we hope you’ll start hearing out at the club on the weekends. Special thanks to Cam and Kate this week!

GTRONIC
Strobo

Dim Mak

Though he might still live in his mom’s basement, Belgium-based GTRONIC can still pump out some beautifully dark beats. His latest two-track offering, Strobo, comes this week via Dim Mak. The title track kicks is a combination of winding synths and fat electro wobbles, while cruising along without any over-the-top build-ups. The b-side entitled “The Parade”, drives hypnotic loops and big-room stabs while a thundering bass drum pounds along throughout the entire track.

Armin van Buuren
Universal Religion Chapter 7

Armada Recordings

Trance giant Armin van Buuren has released the latest installment of his annual compilation series celebrating the closing season in Ibiza, Universal Religion, Chapter 7. The album is a track-by-track breakdown of his closing set at one of Ibiza’s club Privilege, where he’s held his third summer residency. Featuring some familiar festival favorites from this past summer, new remixes from some of Armin’s talented friends and colleagues and new never before heard “future favorites” as his team likes to say, the Universal Religion series is always a landmark at this time of year. And because it was recorded live, even listening in your headphones makes you feel like you were there.

Doorly
Artist Of The Week

Live At Global Gathering 2013

This week, Toolroom Records released the seventh installment of their “Artist of the Week” segment, this time, featuring the label’s future star Doorly. The UK label put Doorly’s Global Gathering 2013 set out as a free download on Soundcloud, ahead of his latest release “Rush,” out September 11. Showcasing his sprawling house roots, Doorly gives listeners a full-bodied hour-plus set, swerving in between bouncing garage-inspired lines and tech-oriented bass thumps. Leading in slowly, Doorly turns up the tempo midway through before rocketing into deep and funky bumping house to close.
