World’s End Press are a Melbourne quartet who have been slowly dropping a series of lush synth-pop tunes in the run up to the release of their eponymous debut album. Their last release, 7 minute track “Deadbeat Sweetheart”, was dubbed iTunes’ Single of the Week and received well for its dark, brooding, and sultry nature. 

 

“Reformation Age” is the second official single off the band’s debut LP, which was produced by none other than Tim Goldsworthy, the producer behind Cut Copy, The Rapture, Hercules & Love Affair, etc. In this dance-punk track, World’s End Press guitarist and vocalist John Parkinson’s lyrics explore a complicated take on nostalgia over layers of synths and insistent rhythms. The single evokes certain feelings of longing and loss whilst somehow remaining uplifting and catchy, a balance that is difficult to pull off correctly, but World’s End Press nail it.

 

The long awaited debut album will feature early singles such as “Only the Brave” and “Second Day Uptown” as well as popular hits ‘To Send Our Love”and “Deadbeat Sweetheart”. Look out for the album available on October 4th via Liberation. Listen to our premiere of “Reformation Age” below.
