The end of summer is like dropping out of orbit.  You might have been free from school, found a fling, or faced the pure unadulterated sun, but it’s over now. And we just can’t believe it.  Ghost Beach‘s “Moon Over Japan” is what the end of summer sounds like.  The introductory with its big league synths, warble through the first twenty seconds and could possibly will ruin the part of your brain that lets you love other things.  Strafing the song are wonderful Tears For Fears synth chords, bass funk, and almost cavernous reverbed vocals. The only reason “my heart breaks” is because I know the song will end. This isn’t a quiet goodbye to summer; it’s a shuttle bursting through the atmosphere. Ghost Beach sweetens the deal with a creative animated video to accompany the single. Check out both below.
