This is your Daily 2% – Chilled and Ready to Serve. We will try to bring you one “chill” track every day. This is for when you get home and you are trying to unwind. You reach for that glass of wine or that unlit Black & Mild or maybe you reach for something more herbal. This track is for those times. We are just your milkmen and I’m here to make a delivery. Chill…

Today’s delivery is brought to you by Ras G. This LA native instrumental beatmaker has been producing for quite a few years and when you speak of having “eclectic” beats, his name has to be quickly introduced in the conversation. He just recently dropped his album, Back On the Planet, through his label Brainfeeder and the album has received mostly positive reviews with emphasis put on its unpredictable beat symmetry. It’s not easy to take seemingly randomish sounds and create a sound that isn’t obnoxious but Ras G seems to do this effortlessly. Possibly, i’m guessing, with the assistance of some unknown drug. The track I’m bringing to you today comes from the latest album and is called “_G Spot Connection”. This is a good example of a track where Ras G not only plays with interesting samples/sounds but also plays with distortion and droning elements that expand what the mind perceives and hears. Also, Ras G is one of those artists that lets me feel ok tagging the post as “experimental” without feeling on the fence about it. Check out the track and chill…
