Last week Detroit rapper Big Sean released one of the most talked about tracks of the year in “Control”, which included a verse from Kendrick Lamar that some believe changed the landscape of hip-hop. It was also revealed that it would not be making his album Hall of Fame because of sample clearance issues. With a verse from the hardly heard from wordsmith Jay Electronica as well, “Control” would probably have been a standout track on the project.

Another standout when looking at the track list, “First Chain”, has hit the web to suggest that there still might be a lot of quality left on this sophomore effort. Hip-hop legend and New York native Nas joins Big Sean in recounting what his first piece meant to him and stood for as he was initially achieving his dreams. Cleveland’s Kid Cudi sings throughout and then gets time to shine with a verse of his own. The soulful beat from Chi town producer No I.D. completes a very enjoyable track that has us interested in what else Big Sean might have up his sleeve for this project. Hall of Fame will be dropping on August 27th through G.O.O.D. Music and Def Jam Recordings.
