London Grammar have been on a bit of a streak, releasing a b-side earlier this week in lieu of their upcoming UK only EP, Strong, building towards their debut album release on September 9th. Truth be told that their sound can overtake a listener within the opening seconds to one of their songs. Their most recent release is live remake of the Chris Isaak‘s most notorious song “Wicked Games” and while not deviating much from the original they manage to energize the classic with all of the expected bells and whistles.
Throughout London Grammar’s live interpretation the entire band chimes in with their A-game. Singer Hannah Reid provides the vocal momentum to carry the original’s emotional load as a subtle electronic beat and mellow guitar riffs take hold. Through the span of the three minute cover London Grammar manage to recreate a the original song’s empathetic feelings in a beautiful way.
