Toronto’s very own Rich Kidd has been gaining quite a following over the past little while; his mixtape series We On Some Rich Kidd Shit has showcased his versatility as a producer and an emcee. After dropping “When I Go Down” with Frank Dukes and “It’s Real Like That” with Deniro Farrar, it seems like his exposure is growing at an exponential rate. Featuring an eclectic list of artists including Casey Veggies, Torae, k-os, and Saigon, The People’s Champ doesn’t limit Kidd’s talents to a single genre, though the use of pianos seem to be a predominant theme in regards to his production style. Highlights include the Biggie sampled “Hustler’s Prayer” and the guitar laced jam “Diamond Sky.” Make sure you don’t sleep on this release cause we’ll be bumping this tape for weeks on end.
