The finialists will be picked with a vote and the final winner will be picked by Scott himself. There is no limit to genre so grab the samples and upload a mix then come back here and post a link to your track so we can listen/vote for your mix. Give Beat Freak a listen on the video below.

Go Remix

Talenthouse also has a contest to work with Ryan Leslie who also happens to be a Harvard Graduate. I hadn’t heard of him before but I checked out the YouTube video below and was impressed by this guy’s talent. He is kinda cheesy dancing around but that’s probably because he has a camera on him and his music kinda sounds like Trance from 1995. This contest is to make a video of yourself creating a new track and to upload it. The winner will work with Ryan in the studio and get credit on a track. Be sure to post a link in the comments if you submit a video.

Check out the video below and then head over to TalentHouse and Get Recording

Excision’s “Shambhala 2009″ mix is coming down the pipes for you this week to feed your Dubstep and Drum & Bass fix. Be sure to drop by his label Rottun Recordings and get some more free DJ Mixes and his MySpace page for tour dates.

Taking influence from Drum and Bass, Metal, and Hip Hop, Excision is a Dubstep artist who must be heard to be fully believed. Combining the morphing bass lines of Drum and Bass, the aggressive energy of Metal, and the laid back vibes of hip hop, Excision’s style is incomparable.

At only 22, this young Canadian’s passion for music has already driven him to become one of the biggest Dubstep acts of North America. Anyone who has heard a set by this bad boy has walked away feeling energized and refreshed. If you’re lucky enough to catch a live set, expect an assault of bass-heavy tracks, mixed quickly and seamlessly.

DMb Podcast 011 : Inertia – Old School Mix Vol. 1

DMb_Podcast_Logo2

Long time Phoenix resident Inertia is constantly bridging the gap between human and machine, laying down syncopated atmospheres of computer generated music without sacrificing the heart and soul that people long for on the dance floor. For nearly 2 decades Inertia has been at the forefront of electronic music, both as a DJ and Producer.

As a Producer, his tracks have found their way into the hearts and playlists of DJ’s such as Danny Howells, Deepdish, Paul Van Dyk, Sasha, and John Digweed. In fact, his co-produced track “Time” by The Dream Traveler, was featured as the opening (and only US Produced track) on the legendary “Tranceport” CD by Paul Oakenfold.

A typical night with Inertia behind the decks might include a mishmash of electronic styles. Whether it’s uplifting or dark and brooding, he is going to find the sweet spot in the audience, and ensure they leave with sweat soaked clothes and smiles on their faces.

Inertia’s mix for the final round in the NGDJ competition can be listened to and voted on at the Let’s Mix Website where you can also check out mixes by the other finalists in the NGDJ competition.

Enjoy!
